
Staunton lies at the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. With winding country roads, wonderful descents, quaint villages and picturesque farms, Staunton is sure to provide an unforgettable riding experience. Peak colors in the Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains are October 20 – November 5, depending on temperatures and moisture.
Terrain
Road bikes, hybrids and mountain bikes are all suitable for the routes. A multi-speed bike with triple chain ring is best for this terrain. There are some hills on the Family routes, but the routes have been selected with inexperienced cyclists in mind.
Weather
Daytime temperatures range in the mid 60s and nighttime lows are in the 40s. Layered clothing is recommended.

Bicycle repair vendors are available at Shelburne Middle School — at lunch, brunch and at some rest stops. The Black Dog Bike Shop is a short distance from Shelburne.
