WE’RE BACK ON! OCTOBER 15-17, 2021

Planning for a Safe Return to the
Fall Foliage Bike Festival

It’s been a long year and we know you’re itching to get back out on the road and ride with others. We’re in the midst of planning our 2021 Fall Foliage Bike Festival — back on our traditional 3rd weekend in October – and look forward to seeing you in Staunton, Virginia!

We take everyone’s safety seriously: not just you as riders and families, but also the scores of local volunteers who staff the rest stops, mark the routes and run the logistics. With that in mind, our planning committee is excited to announce a few new members including an avid cyclist/medical doctor who will be overseeing our covid-19 protocols to help ensure we’re producing the safest bike festival possible.

ENJOY ONE OF
AMERICA’S BEST*
FALL BIKE RIDES

*U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT

The Shenandoah Bike Foliage Festival offers a full weekend of cycling in some of the most beautiful parts of Virginia. Constant vistas of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains enhance your enjoyment of the scenic countryside of the Shenandoah Valley.

You’ll pass bucolic farmlands (where the pace of life slows down so much, you may even pass a few horse-drawn buggies), trees loaded with changing Fall colors, historic Civil War battlefields, and small towns with picturesque town squares and classic Americana architecture.

Our festival — which annually draws over 750 riders from up and down the mid-Atlantic states and beyond — was recently featured by mapmyride.com as one of “10 Epic Fall Century Rides in the U.S.” and in U.S. News and World Report’s Travel as one of America’s Best Fall Bike Rides. We go out of our way to make sure you have enjoyable routes with plenty of rest stops (with a variety of snacks ) and a hearty lunch on Saturday and brunch on Sunday prepared by the master cooks of our local Ruritan Clubs.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

If we all do our part, we can make the return to group cycling as safe as possible! Please take a minute to review these safe cycling protocols.

HAND WASHING-SANITIZE STATIONS

We’ll have extra sanitizing stations available at all Rest Stops and Meal Areas. Please use these before proceeding to the food or beverage areas. Hand washing or sanitizing stations will be near all portable rest stop toilets and will be available at St. Paul’s Church for registration and check-in.

IF YOU FEEL ILL, OR COME INTO CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS COVID-19, STAY HOME!

We want to ride with you, but we also want to provide a safe atmosphere for our volunteers, staff and your fellow cyclists. If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, shortness of breath, headache, etc.) or have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19, please stay home. We look forward to riding with you at a future Fall Foliage Bike Festival. If you catch COVID or come into contact with some who has it right before the ride, please contact us for details on a future ride credit.

Mandatory Mask Zones

Even if you’ve been fully vaccinated, we’re requiring that all participants, volunteers and staff wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth while in these areas:

  • Registration/Packet Pick-up
  • Pre-start Century Saturday Morning
  • Rest Stops
  • In line for Saturday lunch/Sunday breakfast
  • SAG vehicles
